About PixelForge

PixelForge does one thing: it converts image files from one format to another, entirely inside your browser. There's no account to create, no upload to wait on, and no server that ever sees your files.

We built it as a single-purpose tool on purpose. Rather than bundling a dozen unrelated utilities behind one confusing homepage, PixelForge is exactly, only, an image converter — so it loads fast, stays focused, and does the one job well.

How it works

When you choose or drop a file, your browser decodes the image locally and draws it onto a hidden canvas element — the same machinery your browser already uses to display images on any webpage. That canvas is then re-encoded into whichever format you picked (PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, or BMP) and handed back to you as a normal downloadable file. Two formats your browser can't read natively — HEIC/HEIF (the format iPhones save photos in) and TIFF — are decoded on-device with small, purpose-built libraries before the same canvas pipeline takes over.

Because everything happens on your device, nothing you convert is ever transmitted, logged, or stored anywhere. Close the tab and it's gone, exactly as if you'd never opened it.

Why it's free

PixelForge is supported by small, unobtrusive advertising rather than subscriptions or paywalls. There's nothing to sign up for and no limit on how many images you convert.
